Walking down Madison this morning, we see a man standing in the middle of the street. He's waving his hand way over his head, staring down the street, a sad expression on his face. Cabs beep and he shakes his head to let them pass on. He keeps waving, standing in the dead center of traffic, cars swerving around him. He's waving goodbye to -someone-, obviously, and although we can't see who, I get a little teary anyway. I hope whoever he was waving to, that they were watching and waving back.
